    Emma Bates (born July 8, 1992) is an American middle- and long-distance runner. She gained prominence as a 12-time All-American and the 2014 NCAA 10,000 champion while representing Boise State University. In 2018, Bates earned the title of U.S. Women's Marathon Champion. She signed with the BAA High Performance group in July 2015 and relocated to Boston, Massachusetts. Bates achieved the women's 10,000 meters standard for Athletics at the 2016 Summer Olympics through her performance in the 2015 Payton Jordan Invitational A race. She later moved to Idaho in 2017 and, in 2021, transitioned to Boulder, Colorado to join Team Boss, where she is coached by Joe Bosshard.
