Emma Laird is an English actress and former model from Chesterfield. She gained recognition for her role as Iris in the Paramount+ crime thriller series Mayor of Kingstown (2021–). Laird's film credits include A Haunting in Venice (2023). Before transitioning to acting, she worked as a model for seven years, having been scouted by Models 1 at Leeds Festival. Laird was named a 2021 Brit to Watch by Variety. She has been critical of the modeling industry, speaking out about the pressure to lose weight and the lack of creative freedom. Laird now pursues her passion for acting after enrolling in acting classes at the New York Film Academy.
