Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler, born on May 8, 1975, is a Spanish singer and songwriter. He began his recording career in the mid-1990s on the Mexican indie label Fonovisa and quickly became the top-selling Spanish-language artist of the decade. Iglesias successfully crossed over into the mainstream English-language market by the early 2000s. He signed a lucrative multi-album deal with Universal Music Group for $68 million, releasing his Spanish albums through Universal Music Latino and his English albums through Interscope Records. In 2010, he moved to Republic Records, another Universal Music Group label, to release bilingual albums. In 2015, Iglesias switched to Sony Music, releasing his albums through Sony Music Latin in Spanish and RCA Records in English. With estimated sales of over 70 million records, Iglesias is one of the best-selling Latin music artists.
