Enrique Lucero
Enrique Lucero (October 9, 1920 – May 9, 1989) was a Mexican actor known for his appearances in over 120 film roles. Born in Chihuahua City, Chihuahua in October 1920, Lucero made his debut in the 1949 Argentinian film La historia del tango. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Death in the 1960 film Macario, which was the first Mexican film to be nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. Throughout his career, Lucero worked with notable figures in Mexican cinema such as Cantinflas, Luis Buñuel, and René Cardona. He received a nomination for the Ariel Award for Best Actor for his role in Canoa: A Shameful Memory (1976), where he played Fray Enrique Meza Pérez, the main perpetrator of the San Miguel Canoa Massacre.
