Eric B. Biography
Eric B., born Louis Eric Barrier on November 8, 1963, is an American rapper, producer, and DJ known for his work as one half of the golden age hip hop duo Eric B. & Rakim. Their album Paid in Full was recognized as the greatest hip hop album of all time by MTV in 2006. In 2011, Eric B. & Rakim were nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Aside from his music career, Eric B. has taken on acting roles, including the character of police officer Mike Gee on the TV series Blue Bloods since 2019. Born and raised in East Elmhurst, Queens, Eric B. initially pursued basketball before music became his priority. He honed his DJ skills at a young age and was influenced by renowned DJs such as DJ Vernon, King Charles, and Grandmaster Flash.
