Eric Dane is an American actor known for his roles in various television shows and films. He was born on November 9, 1972, in San Francisco, California. Dane began his acting career with multiple television roles in the 1990s and 2000s, including a recurring role in Charmed. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Dr. Mark Sloan in the ABC medical drama Grey's Anatomy. Dane has also appeared in movies such as Marley & Me, Valentine's Day, and Burlesque. Currently, he stars as Cal Jacobs in the HBO series Euphoria. Dane is also known for his role as Captain Tom Chandler in the post-apocalyptic drama The Last Ship. He attended Sequoia High School and San Mateo High School, where he graduated.
