Ernest Lee Thomas Biography
Ernest Lee Thomas (born March 26, 1949) is an American actor best known for his role as Roger 'Raj' Thomas on the 1970s sitcom What's Happening!!, and its 1980s sequel, What's Happening Now!!. He also had a recurring role as Mr. Omar on Everybody Hates Chris. Thomas began his acting career on Broadway, appearing in the revivals of Love for Love and The Member of the Wedding. He later moved to Los Angeles to pursue TV and film roles. In 1975, he landed a role on an episode of The Jeffersons and then auditioned for the lead role in What's Happening!!. The show went on to become a success and solidified Thomas' place in television history.
