Erni Mangold Biography
Erni Mangold (born Erna Goldmann on January 26, 1927) is an Austrian actress and stage director. With a career spanning over 70 years, she has appeared in more than 75 films and TV productions. Born into a family of artists, Mangold received piano lessons from a young age. After training at Helmut Kraus's Drama School, she performed at Vienna's Theater in der Josefstadt from 1946 to 1956. She then worked at Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg from 1955 to 1963 and at Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus under Karl Heinz Stroux. Mangold went on to teach at various institutions, including Salzburg Mozarteum and University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. In December 2017, she retired at the age of 90.
