Eva Avila

Eva Avila is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and actress, born on February 25, 1987, in Gatineau, Quebec. She gained fame by winning the fourth season of the CTV reality show Canadian Idol in 2006. Avila began singing at a young age and won the Homegrown Cafe talent show at the age of 9. Before her Idol win, she worked as a postal clerk and beauty consultant. Aside from Canadian Idol, Avila also participated in other singing competitions like Jeune Diva du Québec and a Quebec TV téléroman called Virginie. She is multilingual, speaking English, French, and Spanish. Avila is affectionately known as Eva le dragon, a nickname given to her by her family.
