    David Evan McMullin, born on April 2, 1976, is an American political candidate and former CIA officer. He served as a CIA operations officer from 2001 to 2010 before obtaining an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011. Following his CIA career, McMullin worked as an investment banker for a brief period. From 2013 to 2015, he served as a senior adviser on national security issues for the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and later became the chief policy director for the House Republican Conference in the U.S. House of Representatives from January 2015 to July 2016. In 2016, McMullin ran as an independent candidate in the United States presidential election with support from the organization Better for America.
