Everett McGill Biography
Everett McGill, born Charles Everett McGill III on October 21, 1945, is a retired American actor who gained recognition for his portrayal of a caveman in Quest for Fire (1981). He further showcased his talent in notable films like Dune (1984), Silver Bullet (1985), Heartbreak Ridge (1986), Licence to Kill (1989), The People Under the Stairs (1991), and Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995). On television, McGill appeared in an episode of Tour Of Duty and gained significant popularity for his role as 'Big' Ed Hurley in Twin Peaks (1990–1991), returning for the show's revival. McGill retired from acting in 1999 but made a comeback for Twin Peaks. Born in Miami Beach, Florida, McGill graduated from Rosedale High School in Kansas City, Kansas in 1963. Throughout his career, McGill often played sadistic military types or terrorists and also had a stint on the soap opera The Guiding Light as Chad Richards.
