Fiona Apple McAfee-Maggart, born on September 13, 1977, is an American singer-songwriter. With a career spanning from 1996 to 2020, Apple has released five albums, all of which have reached the top 20 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. Her notable achievements include winning three Grammy Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and a Billboard Music Award. Born in New York City, Apple is the youngest daughter of actor Brandon Maggart. She was raised between New York and Los Angeles. Apple began composing her own songs at the age of eight and received critical acclaim for her debut album, Tidal, which earned her a Grammy Award. She continued her success with the platinum-certified album When the Pawn... and continued to release critically acclaimed music throughout her career.
