Flavor Flav Biography
Flavor Flav, born William Jonathan Drayton Jr. on March 16, 1959, is an American rapper and hype man. He is best known for his energetic performances and trademark yell of 'Yeah, boyeeeeee!' Flavor Flav co-founded the rap group Public Enemy alongside Chuck D and has garnered six Grammy Award nominations. He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. After a period out of the spotlight, Flavor Flav appeared in several VH1 reality series such as The Surreal Life, Strange Love, and Flavor of Love. Born in Roosevelt, New York, he grew up in Freeport and is the cousin of former Penn State basketball player Shep Garner and rappers Ol' Dirty Bastard, RZA, and GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan. Flavor Flav taught himself piano at a young age and excelled in playing multiple instruments.
