Forrest Sawyer Biography
Forrest Sawyer is an American broadcast journalist born on April 19, 1949. He spent 11 years working with ABC News, where he anchored ABC World News Tonight and Nightline, while also reporting for all ABC News broadcasts. Sawyer also anchored the newsmagazines 'Day One' and 'Turning Point,' and recorded stories from around the world, earning several awards including Emmy Awards in 1992, 1993, and 1994. In 1999, he joined NBC News and MSNBC as a news anchor, often substituting for Brian Williams on The News with Brian Williams. Sawyer left NBC News in 2005 and founded Freefall Productions, where he produces documentaries and works as a media strategist and guest lecturer.
