Francis Elliott Kranz, born on July 13, 1981, is an American actor and film director. He gained recognition for his role as Topher Brink in the science fiction series Dollhouse. Kranz has appeared in notable films such as The Cabin in the Woods and Much Ado About Nothing. In 2012, he made his Broadway debut as Bernard in Death of a Salesman, followed by You Can't Take It with You in 2014. Kranz directed his first feature film, Mass, in 2021, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to critical acclaim. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Kranz attended Harvard-Westlake School and Yale University, where he was a member of the improv group The Ex!t Players. He married actress Spencer Margaret Richmond in 2015.
