Frances Tomelty (born 6 October 1948) is a Northern Irish actress known for her extensive television credits. She has appeared in a range of popular shows including Strangers (1978–1979), Testament of Youth (1979), Inspector Morse (1988), Cracker (1993), The Amazing Mrs Pritchard (2006), The White Queen (2013), and Unforgotten (2015). Tomelty has also showcased her talent on stage, notably playing Kate in the original production of Dancing at Lughnasa in Dublin (1990). Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, she is the daughter of actor Joseph Tomelty and Lena Milligan. Tomelty was previously married to musician Sting from 1976 to 1984.
