Francine York
Francine York (1936-2017), born Francine Yerich, was an American actress and model. She gained recognition for her work in the entertainment industry under the names Francine York and Francine Yerick. Born in Aurora, Minnesota to Frank and Sophie Yerich, York attended Hamline University on a drama scholarship. At 17, she was the runner-up in the Miss Minnesota contest. After working as a showgirl at Bimbo's nightclub in San Francisco, she was brought to Hollywood by Mary Meade French and signed with an agent. York performed as a showgirl at Frank Sennes' Moulin Rouge before transitioning to acting. Her first movie role was in a film called 'Whisper in God's Ear.'
