Francis Manning Marlborough Pryor is a British archaeologist specializing in the study of the Bronze and Iron Ages in Britain. He gained recognition for his excavation of Flag Fen, a Bronze Age archaeological site near Peterborough. Pryor is widely known for his regular appearances on the Channel 4 television series Time Team. He attended Eton College and later studied archaeology at Trinity College, Cambridge. After a brief stint in Canada, he returned to Britain and worked as a technician at the Royal Ontario Museum. While now retired from full-time field archaeology, Pryor continues to make television appearances, write books, and work as a sheep farmer. His family has a background in the Burke's Landed Gentry and military service.
