Frank Oz (born Frank Richard Oznowicz; May 25, 1944) is an American actor, puppeteer, and filmmaker. He gained prominence for his work with Jim Henson and the Muppets, performing iconic characters such as Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, and Sam Eagle on The Muppet Show and Cookie Monster, Bert, and Grover on Sesame Street. Oz also played the character of Yoda in the Star Wars series, starting with The Empire Strikes Back in 1980.
