Frankie Muniz, born Francisco Muniz IV on December 5, 1985, is an American actor known for his role as the title character in the Fox sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. His portrayal earned him an Emmy Award nomination and two Golden Globe Award nominations. Muniz has appeared in various films, including Deuces Wild (2002), Big Fat Liar (2002), Agent Cody Banks (2003), and Racing Stripes (2005). In addition to his acting career, Muniz pursued a racing career in the Atlantic Championship in 2008 and returned to racing in stock cars in 2021. He also served as the drummer for the indie rock band Kingsfoil from 2012 to 2014. Muniz was born in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey, and is the son of nurse Denise and restaurateur Francisco Muniz III.
