He also appeared in the horror trilogy The Fear Street and the HBO series The White Lotus. Hechinger was born in New York City to Sarah Rozen and Paul Hechinger. His grandfather, Fred M. Hechinger, was The New York Times education editor. Hechinger attended Saint Ann's School and studied at Upright Citizens Brigade. He is Jewish.
