Fred Melamed

Fred Melamed (born May 13, 1956) is an American actor and writer. He gained recognition for his role as Sy Ableman in the Coen Brothers' A Serious Man (2009) and has since established himself as a renowned character actor. Melamed has appeared in several films, including Woody Allen's movies and notable works like In a World... (2012), Hail, Caesar! (2016), and Shiva Baby (2020). On television, he has portrayed characters such as Bruce Ben-Bacharach in Lady Dynamite (2016–2017), Gumbald in Adventure Time (2017–2018), Arthur Hart in WandaVision (2021), and Tom Posorro in Barry (2022–2023). Melamed was born in New York City to a secular Jewish family and is considered one of the greatest character actors in the industry.
