Freddie Highmore, born Alfred Thomas Highmore on 14 February 1992 in Camden Town, London, is an English actor. He gained recognition for his roles in several films, including Finding Neverland (2004), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), August Rush (2007), and The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008). Highmore received critical acclaim and two consecutive Critics' Choice Movie Awards for Best Young Performer. He further showcased his talent in the drama-thriller series Bates Motel (2013–2017), portraying the iconic character Norman Bates, earning three nominations for Critics' Choice Television Award. In 2017, Highmore began producing and starring as Dr. Shaun Murphy in The Good Doctor, an ABC drama series, for which he received a Golden Globe nomination.
