Freddie Roman
Freddie Roman (born Fred Kirschenbaum; May 28, 1937 – November 26, 2022) was an American stand-up comedian known for his frequent appearances at 'Borscht Belt' hotels. Born in Jamaica, New York, Roman grew up in a family with a background in hospitality, as his uncle and grandfather owned the Crystal Spring Hotel in the Catskills. At the age of 15, he began emceeing at the hotel and later pursued a career in show business. Roman headlined at various resort venues, including Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and Harrah's Atlantic City. He also served as the dean of The Friars Club for multiple terms. Roman co-wrote and starred in several productions throughout his career.
