Fritz Weaver Biography
Fritz William Weaver (January 19, 1926 − November 26, 2016) was an American actor known for his extensive work in theatre, television, and film. With a career spanning nearly 60 years, Weaver appeared in over 170 productions. Notable stage performances include winning the 1970 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for his role in Child's Play and receiving a Tony nomination for The Chalk Garden. He also gained recognition for his Shakespearean performances and his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes in Baker Street. On screen, Weaver appeared in films such as Fail Safe, Marathon Man, Black Sunday, Demon Seed, Creepshow, and The Thomas Crown Affair. Additionally, he received an Emmy nomination for his role in the television miniseries Holocaust.
