Fritzi Burr Biography
Fritzi Burr (May 31, 1924 – January 17, 2003) was an American character actress known for her roles in the sitcoms 'What's Happening!!' and 'Sanford and Son' in the 1970s. She portrayed Miss Collins on 'What's Happening!!' and played various comedic foils to Fred Sanford on 'Sanford and Son.' Born as Freda Berr in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on May 31, 1924, to Pauline Berr and David Berr, she came from a Russian Jewish background. Burr's parents divorced when she was young, and she was raised by her mother and maternal grandparents in Newark, New Jersey. She passed away on January 17, 2003.
