Gabriel Scott
Gabriel Scott (8 March 1874 – 9 July 1958) was a Norwegian poet, novelist, playwright, and children's writer. Born Gabriel Scott Jensen in Leith, Scotland, he moved to Norway at the age of seven. Scott made his literary debut in 1894 with the poetry collection 'Digte' ('Poems'), followed by 'Dag' ('Day') in 1895. He published the love story 'Aftenrøde. Arkitekt Helmers optegnelser' in 1896, along with the story collection 'Livsfrisen'. Throughout his career, Scott wrote numerous poems, plays, novels, and children's books. He was married three times, first to Ellen Johansen, then to Dagmar Marie Jensen, and finally to Birgit Gabrielsen. Gabriel Scott passed away in Arendal in 1958.
