Gabrielle Zevin (born October 24, 1977) is an American author and screenwriter. She was born in New York City to an American father of Ashkenazi Jewish, Russian, Lithuanian, and Polish ancestry, and a Korean mother who emigrated to the United States at a young age. Zevin grew up in Boca Raton, Florida, and graduated from Spanish River Community High School in 1996. She went on to study English with a concentration in American Literature at Harvard University, where she met her partner, Hans Canosa. Zevin has lived in Manhattan and currently resides in Los Angeles with Canosa. She is known for her debut novel, Margarettown, which was published in 2005 and received critical acclaim.
