Gad Elmaleh (جاد المالح) is a Moroccan stand-up comedian and actor who gained fame in France, Morocco, and the United States. Born on April 19, 1971, Elmaleh has starred in notable feature films such as Coco, Priceless, La Doublure, and Midnight in Paris. Known as the funniest person in France, he has received honors including being named knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the Minister of Culture and knight of the National Order of Quebec. Elmaleh has also embarked on national comedy tours across the United States in 2015 and 2018. In 2019, he appeared in the Netflix series Huge in France. Elmaleh was born and raised in Casablanca to a culturally diverse Moroccan Berber Jewish family, speaking Moroccan Arabic and French. He has a brother, Arié, who is an actor and singer, and a sister, Judith, who is an actress and stage director.
