Gail Matthius

Gail Matthius is an American actress and comedian known for her role as a cast member of NBC's Saturday Night Live during the 1980-1981 season. She co-anchored the Weekend Update segment with Charles Rocket. Matthius was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College. Before joining the SNL cast, she had performed at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles. Rolling Stone magazine ranked her as the 74th best SNL cast member out of 141, highlighting her portrayal of Vickie, a sharp valley girl mall-chick character. Matthius also played Roweena, a neurotic Midwestern-accented hairdresser, during her time on the show.
