Gailard Sartain Biography
Gailard Sartain is an American retired actor known for his roles in movies and TV shows. Born on September 18, 1946, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sartain often played characters with Southern roots. He was a regular on the country music variety series Hee Haw. Sartain is most recognized for his roles in three of the Ernest movies and the TV series Hey Vern, It's Ernest!. He is also an accomplished painter and illustrator. Sartain attended Cascia Hall Preparatory School and graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Tulsa. Sartain began his career in entertainment as a cameraman at a local television station in Tulsa before gaining notoriety for his late-night TV comedy show.
