Gale Anne Hurd is an American film and television producer, best known as the founder of Valhalla Entertainment. Born on October 25, 1955, in Los Angeles, Hurd grew up in Palm Springs. She attended Stanford University, graduating in 1977 with a BA in economics and communications. Hurd began her career as executive assistant to Roger Corman at New World Pictures, eventually transitioning into production. In 1982, she established her own production company, Pacific Western Productions. Throughout her career, Hurd has produced numerous box-office hits, including the James Cameron films The Terminator (1984), Aliens (1986), and The Abyss (1989). She has also worked on popular TV shows such as The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead.
