Garrick Utley (1939-2014) was an American television journalist. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Utley began his career as a researcher in Europe for The Huntley-Brinkley Report, eventually becoming a Foreign and Principal correspondent for NBC News. He gained recognition as the first full-time television correspondent covering the Vietnam War on-site. Utley reported from various locations around the world, including London and Paris, and covered events within the United States. He also served as a weekend anchor and frequently substituted for John Chancellor. Utley's parents, Frayn and Clifton Utley, were correspondents for the NBC Radio Network. Utley's contributions to journalism spanned over four decades.
