Garry Chalk Biography
Garry Chalk (born 1952) is a British-born Canadian actor best known for his voice work in various animated television series and films. He provided the voices for Optimus Primal in Beast Wars: Transformers and Beast Machines, as well as Optimus Prime in English dubs of Transformers anime series. Chalk has lent his voice to over 30 animated TV shows and has appeared in films such as The Fly II, Godzilla, and Freddy vs. Jason. On television, he played the recurring role of Col. Chekov on Stargate SG-1 and Inspector Andrew Pawlachuk on Cold Squad. Chalk has also been involved in theatre since 1978, performing in various Canadian theaters. He was born in Southampton, England and moved to Vancouver, Canada at a young age.
