Gary Farmer Biography
Gary Dale Farmer (born June 12, 1953) is a Canadian actor and musician. He is best known for his roles as Nobody in the films Dead Man (1995) and Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999), as well as his role in Smoke Signals (1998). Over his career spanning three decades, Farmer has received three Independent Spirit Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor. He is also recognized for his contributions to First Nations media in Canada, having founded the urban Indian radio network, Aboriginal Voices Radio Network. Born in Ohsweken, Ontario, Farmer is of Cayuga Nation and Wolf Clan descent. He studied photography and film production at Syracuse University and Ryerson Polytechnic University.
