Gbemisola Ikumelo is a British actress, comedian, and writer. She gained recognition for her roles in various TV shows and films. Ikumelo began her acting career at a young age and was a member of the National Youth Theatre. She studied at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her breakthrough came with her role as Dane Baptiste's twin sister in the TV series Sunny D. However, she rose to prominence with her sketch show Famalam, which aired on BBC. In 2021, she received a Royal Television Society award for her outstanding performance in Famalam. Ikumelo also won a BAFTA award for her short film Brain in Gear. She is currently a main cast member on the Amazon series A League of Their Own, a show based on the creation of a women's American baseball team during World War II.
