Gena Rowlands, born June 19, 1930, is an American retired actress with a career spanning nearly seven decades in film, stage, and television. She is recognized as one of the last living actresses from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Rowlands has received numerous accolades, including four Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. She is best known for her collaborations with her late husband, actor-director John Cassavetes, in films such as A Woman Under the Influence (1974) and Gloria (1980), both of which earned her Academy Award nominations.
