Geoffrey Bayldon Biography
Albert Geoffrey Bayldon (7 January 1924 – 10 May 2017) was an English actor known for his roles in stage productions, including those of William Shakespeare. He gained popularity for his portrayal of the title character in the children's series Catweazle (1969–70), as well as for his roles as the Crowman in Worzel Gummidge (1979–81) and Magic Grandad in the BBC series Watch (1995). Bayldon, born in Leeds, attended Bridlington School and Hull College of Architecture. After serving in the Royal Air Force during World War II, he pursued a career in acting, training at the Old Vic Theatre School. In addition to his television roles, Bayldon appeared in several films, including King Rat (1965), To Sir, with Love (1967), and Casino Royale (1967).
