George Canyon
George Canyon (born Frederick George Lays on August 22, 1970) is a Canadian country music singer and actor. He gained recognition as the runner up on the second season of Nashville Star in 2004. Born in Fox Brook, Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Canyon later moved to Calgary, Alberta. In addition to his music career, he also holds an appointment in the Canadian Forces as the Colonel Commandant of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. Prior to his music success, Canyon worked various jobs including as a bylaw enforcement officer/special constable, a slaughterhouse beef inspector, and the owner/operator of his own recording studio. He is a proud father of two children.
