George Walker Bush is an American politician who served as the 43rd president of the United States from 2001 to 2009. Born on July 6, 1946, he is a member of the Republican Party. Before his presidency, Bush served as the 46th governor of Texas from 1995 to 2000. He began his career by flying warplanes in the Texas Air National Guard and later worked in the oil industry after graduating from Harvard Business School in 1975. Bush co-owned the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball before entering politics. As governor, he focused on tort reform, education funding, school standards, criminal justice reform, and promoting wind-powered electricity production.
