Gerald Kyd (born Gerasimos Avvakoumides in 1973 in Pretoria, South Africa) is a half-Greek, half-Scottish actor. He is best known for his role as Sean Maddox in the BBC medical drama Casualty, which he starred in from 1998 until 2000, and later reprised for a few episodes in 2006. Kyd has also appeared in various stage productions, including The Seagull, Cyrano De Bergerac, The Prophet in Exile, and Deathtrap. He has performed at prestigious theaters such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Globe Theatre, and the Royal National Theatre. Some of his notable roles include Athos in The Three Musketeers and Colonel Afridi in Blood and Gifts.
