Gerard James Butler (born 13 November 1969) is a Scottish actor and film producer. He began his acting career in the mid-1990s, with small roles in films such as Mrs Brown (1997) and Tomorrow Never Dies (1997). Butler gained critical acclaim for his role as Count Dracula in Dracula 2000 (2000). In 2004, Butler earned a Satellite Award nomination for Best Actor for his portrayal of Erik, The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera.
