Gerard McCarthy is a Northern Irish actor born on March 31, 1981, in Belfast. They attended St. Mary's Christian Brothers' Grammar School before being awarded Sir Kenneth Branagh's Renaissance Scholarship to train at Laine Theatre Arts, graduating in 2002. McCarthy is known for their role as Kevin McSwain in the BAFTA-nominated drama series The Fall, airing on BBC 2. They have also appeared in the Netflix series Titanic: Blood & Steel alongside Sir Derek Jacobi, Neve Campbell, and Joely Richardson. McCarthy made an appearance as Brondsted in the first episode of the History Channel series Vikings, starring Gabriel Byrne. Additionally, they portrayed Rory Thompson in Samson Films' Belonging to Laura, a modern-day adaptation of Oscar Wilde's Lady Windermere's Fan.
