Gerda Stevenson (born 10 April 1956) is a Scottish actress, director, and writer. She has had a successful career in both theatre and television, playing various roles including the title role in Edwin Morgan's English translation of Racine's Phèdre and Lady Macbeth. Stevenson has appeared in several television dramas and is known for her role as Murron MacClannough's mother in the film Braveheart. She is also recognized for her voice work, particularly as a reader of short stories and adaptations on British radio. In addition to her acting career, Stevenson is a talented playwright and poet. Her play Federer Versus Murray toured to New York in 2012, and her poetry collection If This Were Real was published in 2013.
