Gerry O'Brien Biography
Gerry O'Brien is a retired Scottish professional footballer, born on November 10, 1949. He played as a winger for several clubs in Scotland and England during the 1960s and 1970s, including Clydebank, Southampton, and Swindon Town. O'Brien began his career with Drumchapel Amateurs before joining Clydebank in 1968. He caught the attention of Southampton's scout, Campbell Forsyth, and eventually signed with the club for a then-record fee of £22,500. O'Brien made his Division One debut in 1970, replacing the injured Terry Paine on the right wing. Throughout his career, he showcased his skills and contributed to the success of his teams.
