Giuseppe Ardizzone Biography
Giuseppe Ardizzone (born February 17, 1947) is an Italian long-distance runner. He achieved 6th place in the 5000m event at the 1969 European Athletics Championships. Ardizzone was a two-time national champion in the senior category. From 1966 to 1973, he gained recognition as one of the top Italian athletes in middle distance and cross-country running. During his career, Ardizzone set national records in the 3000m with a time of 7:59.6 on August 31, 1968, and in the 10,000m with a time of 29:04.2 on May 31, 1970. He also held the national record in the 25,000m event with a time of 1:17:28.2 on November 13, 1971. Ardizzone's records remained unbroken until 1970, 1971, and 1977, respectively.
