Glenn Greenwald
Glenn Edward Greenwald (born March 6, 1967) is an American journalist, author, and former lawyer. He founded a law firm specializing in First Amendment litigation in 1996. Greenwald gained prominence through his blogging on national security issues starting in October 2005, where he criticized the George W. Bush Administration for attacks on civil liberties after the September 11 attacks. He became known for his vocal opposition to the Iraq War and his critical stance towards American foreign policy. Greenwald began contributing to Salon in 2007 and joined The Guardian in 2012. His investigative reporting on American and British global surveillance programs, based on classified documents provided by Edward Snowden, earned him numerous awards, including a Pulitzer Prize and the George Polk Award.
