Gloria Allred

Gloria Rachel Allred (Bloom), born on July 3, 1941, is an American attorney known for her involvement in high-profile and often controversial cases, particularly those concerning women's rights. Born into a Jewish working-class family in Philadelphia, Allred's father was a salesman and her mother a householder. After graduating from the Philadelphia High School for Girls, she attended the University of Pennsylvania where she met her first husband and had a daughter, Lisa Bloom. Allred later pursued her education, earning a bachelor's degree in English with honors in 1963. With a strong dedication to championing women's rights, Allred has been inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame.
