Gloria Henry (born Gloria Eileen McEniry; April 2, 1923 – April 3, 2021) was an American actress. She is best known for her role as Alice Mitchell, Dennis' mother, on the CBS family sitcom Dennis the Menace from 1959 to 1963. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Henry moved to Los Angeles in her late teens. She began her career in radio shows and commercials using the stage name Gloria Henry. In 1946, she signed with Columbia Studios and made her film debut in Sport of Kings (1947). She also appeared in Miss Grant Takes Richmond (1949) and Rancho Notorious (1952). Henry was known for her discussions on gossip, fashion, and sports and also performed in little theater groups.
