Gonzalo de Castro

Gonzalo de Castro (born 2 February 1963, in Madrid) is a Spanish actor. After studying law and graduating at age 23, he decided to pursue acting. Debuting in the theatre play Por los pelos (1992), he went on to have small roles in films and theater. In 1999, he began working on the series Siete Vidas as a helper and assistant director, eventually becoming one of the main characters for seven years. Following the success of Siete Vidas, he starred in Doctor Mateo (2009–2011), the Spanish remake of Doc Martin, earning several awards for best television actor. De Castro has also been known for his relationships with actresses Nathalie Poza and Natalia Verbeke. His notable TV show appearances include 7 vidas (1999–2006), Doctor Mateo (2009–2011), Matar al padre (2018), and The Innocent (2021). He has also appeared in the film Lisboa, faca no coração (1998) by Manuel Palacios.
